Homer Brewing Company

Homer Brewing Company began by the inspiration of the renaissance of beer throughout the U.S. and the will to carve out a livelihood in Homer. Brought together through the original homebrew cooperative, the Q & Q Guild, Steve McCasland, Lasse Holmes & Karen Berger combined their talents and love of beer to create the Kenai Peninsula’s first brewery. Homer Brewing Company,  open since September 21, 1996 brewing Fresh Traditional Country Ales.

“Open every day with the exception of a few high holidays, you can find us here beginning at noon. Hours vary slightly by season, but you can bet on noon-5, seven days a week. We don’t give tours like you would find in a large brewery, but when you walk in the door, you will find yourself ‘on tour’”. Our beers are sold in growlers from the brewery and available on tap locally in Homer’s fine eating and drinking establishments.

The brewhouse is open to see the workings of the brewers as you select your beer or shop around the retail area. They are always happy to answer any questions you have about the process or general local information.

Kenai River Brewing Company

Kenai River Brewing Company, a microbrewery, has been operating in the heart of Soldotna, Alaska for 5 years.  We feature 10 different styles of beer on tap all year.  We are excited to offer our beer in cans, look for Skilak Scottish and Sunken Island IPA throughout Alaska.  Why can craft beer?  Cans are actually the best package to keep beer fresh, protecting it from light and oxygen.  Aluminum is the most recycled container in the world.  Recycling aluminum cans saves 95 percent of the energy used to make aluminum cans.  Cans are cool, lightweight, easy to carry, and unbreakable.  With the active lifestyle of Alaskans, canned craft beer just makes sense.  In addition to cans we offer pints on premise, growlers, party pigs (2.25 gallons) and 5-gallon kegs to go.  Stop by and get some fresh brewed beer to complete the adventures in your life.

Amy Jackman, owner of C~Cups Specialty Coffees, spent an extensive 40 hours learning from the 2008 Italian Cup Tasting Champion on how to construct a True Italian Coffee. Amy then spends one-on-one time with each barista teaching them the art and techniques that make C~Cups Specialty Coffees a unique and favorable coffee shop.

“The base for all coffee drinks is having Perfect Espresso.”

Catering to those who perceive themselves as coffee connoisseur’s or “Coffee Snobs”, C~Cups is growing more and more popular to people who genuinely enjoy good coffee. C~Cups Specialty Coffees believes “A person should be able to Enjoy ALL the ingredients of an Espresso drink without tasting an overwhelming sense of Bitterness or Burn, relying solely on the additives to make an enjoyable drink”.

“Real Espresso should be tasted and savored, not masked by heavy syrup and flavoring.”

C~Cups Specialty Coffee’s particular niche in the coffee market is exemplified by the exclusive use of Raven’s Brew coffee. The Made In Alaska, organic whole bean coffee complements the craft of C~Cups Espresso with the Raven’s Brew Resurrection blend; The Toddy Coffee with Raven’s Brew Deadman’s Reach and the drip coffee with Raven’s Brew Three Peckered Billy Goat.

Mugz Café first opened its doors in Soldotna’s Blazy Mall in 2007 as Mugz Coffee Lounge. Since the new owner, Greg Swank, took over in April of 2011, more than the name has changed; the menu has been completely revamped as well! While they still serve your favorite coffee and espresso drinks, Mugz now offers a variety of unique deli-style creations.

Everything at Mugz Café is prepared by the world-famous “Byron-Mc-B” and Greg himself, who has more than 35 years of experience as a chef. Together the duo delivers a wide assortment of mouth-watering creations made from the finest ingredients available.

From their Homemade Sauerkraut to their Honey Must, Dill, Pumpkin and Guinness Stout Rye breads, the attention to quality and detail is apparent in all items on the Mugz Café menu.

So if you’re looking for a break from the usual burger and bun, treat yourself to lunch in Mugz Café’s cozy dining area. We suggest the Wasabi Beef wrap, Turkey Cranberry sandwich or the Thai Chicken salad!
